CAUTION! This is not an ordinary program. While you will walk away with a better understanding of macronutrients (fats, proteins, carbs), and mircronutrients (vitamins and minerals) we believe that food is just one piece of the puzzle. Our goal is to empower you to be your own health expert! In order to do that we will also be exploring:
* the psychology of eating * why you crave certain foods at certain times * building your intuition about optimal nutrition * how to cook healthy food without sacrificing flavor * how your relationship to food is connected to everything else * how to practice radical self acceptance * discovering what is keeping you stuck and getting unstuck * developing confidence in all areas of your life * getting connected to your body with movement and yoga * the importance of healing wounds * being open * developing deeper connections with others that allow your best self to shine
This is not a program about change, it is about transformation. Each session builds on the last. The sessions are meant to be provocative, challenging you to open up in new ways and learn to love yourself from the inside out. What is amazing about a group of this kind, is that everyone is a mirror of each other in some way, it is a Gift to discover the many reflections of ourselves, work through obstacles, and motivate each other to a new level of vibrant health and confidence.
What this program includes: * Eight two hour group meetings which will include goal setting and educational healthy living lectures. * Your own binder with session notes and handouts * Recipes and cooking tips * Healthy living materials and food tastings * A food store tour at Rainbow Grocery Cooperative Inc. * Meditation/relaxation techniques * Yoga instruction * A Celebration juice/potluck party * And a few surprises : )
